I Hate July and August
August 5, 2009Even though this summer has been exceedingly mild (we’ve rarely needed to run the A/C at night), I still hate July and August.
During the months of July and August, I am most separated from snow, and consequently, snowboarding. To make matters much worse, I recently got some sick closeout prices on a new Burton jacket and a brand new (and plaid!) pair of Burton cargo pants. I also have a just-broken-in pair of Burton Cartel bindings – it took me a few days to really dial them in to my liking. And, after the last snowmelt in March, I also got a new pair of goggles and a sweet looking pair of Dakine gloves, they are black leather with gold accents so like very Michael-Jackson-esque. At least they remind me of MJ.
Needless to say I’m dying to get back to the slopes, but I know there are a few 100-degree days between now and then.
Last year, I made my first descent on the local garbage-dump of a ski “resort” the day before Thanksgiving. If I can get out before Christmas this year, I’ll be thrilled.
In the interim, I’ll continue to be bored out of my fucking skull.
